Meeting the Needs of Our Local Communities
The Shelly Company prides itself on being an active member in the community. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our local communities by supporting activities that make a difference. The Shelly Company has a hometown approach to giving back, with priorities in our local operating facilities.
Themed Truck Program
The Themed Truck program's “rolling billboards” are a solid commitment from Shelly Co. management and employees to provide support and awareness to local charities. Each year, The Shelly Company’s 28 themed trucks participate in more than 40+ community events, throughout Ohio, like the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Chili Cook-off’s, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Event, Cleveland Metro Parks “Touch-A-Truck” event, Warren High School FFA, Harbor House Golf Outing and so much more. These events are made possible through our employee volunteerism and community outreach.
Employee-Driven Community Action Teams
The Shelly Company is proud of its employee-driven community action teams that work to help those in need. Some popular events and fundraisers include “Don’t Stress Over the Dress” hosted at the Findlay Village Mall, “Bowling for Kids” hosted at the Thornville Village Lanes, and the "BrAva Dice Run" hosted in Marietta.
Rocks Build Our World Program
The Shelly Company's Rocks Build Our World Program is a fun and interactive program that aligns with state science standards. The program builds upon students' knowledge of topics like the rock cycle and introduces the aggregate mining business through outreach by local operating companies. It also emphasizes the importance of conservation and safety. Students experience various learning styles through videos, hands-on experiences, songs and class participation.
