Meeting the Needs of Our Local Communities
The Shelly Company prides itself on being an active member in the community. We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our local communities by supporting activities that make a difference. The Shelly Company has a hometown approach to giving back, with priorities in our local operating facilities.
Themed Truck Program
The Themed Truck program “rolling billboards” is a solid commitment from Shelly Co. management and employees to provide support and awareness to local charities. Each year, The Shelly Company’s 20 themed trucks participate in more than 40+ community events, throughout Ohio, like the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Chili Cook-off’s, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Event, Cleveland Metro Parks “Touch-A-Truck” event, Washington High School FFA, Make-A-Wish Foundation 1.5 mile walk at Columbus Zoo and so much more. These events are made possible through our employee volunteerism and community outreach.
Local Community Involvement
In effort to build relationships and be a good neighbor, our aggregate quarries and asphalt plant facilities host community events like open houses, plant tours and customer appreciation days. To help celebrate the third week in July as the state’s “Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Awareness Week” community members were invited for an ice cream social at our Scott quarry. Community residents enjoyed the cold tasty treat as they waited their turn to tour the stone quarry.
Employee-Driven Community Action Teams
The Shelly Company is proud of its employee-driven community action teams. The teams continue their efforts to help those in need. Some of the more popular events and fundrasiers include “Don’t Stress Over the Dress” hosted at the Findlay Village Mall, “Bowling for Kids” hosted at the Thornville Village Lanes, and “Raising Awareness Chopin Hill Food Pantry Drive”.
