About 100 Shelly Co. employees, family members and friends participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K in Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 27 — and raised $15,000 for the cause.
The Shelly team’s total — which employees raised through donations from friends and family members, office potlucks, pink ribbon hard-hat stickers and entry fees for a 5K at the Dresden Wildlife Habitat Site — was No. 1 out of 194 participating teams.
Shelly Co. participants donned pink hard hats to show support for the cause, and one of the Shelly Co. ready mix concrete themed trucks was decked out in pink with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and American Cancer Society logos.
This was only the second year in which Shelly Co. employees participated in the event, making the team’s fundraising total even more impressive.
