The Shelly Company held its first women’s forum to discuss challenges surrounding diversity and inclusion in the workplace, Women@Shelly, on Nov. 14.
The event celebrated women representing all lines of Shelly business, including construction, ready mix, quality control, sales, aggregates, asphalt, finance, customer service, human resources, liquid and safety. Participants were challenged to think critically about their role in the construction industry and collaborate with their peers to imagine ways to make the business better for all employees.
Tammy Wallace, Shelly’s vice president of finance, sponsored the event. Ty Nofziger, company president, kicked off the event with a presentation to share the commitment all Shelly leadership is making to encourage a more diverse workforce.
The women participated in breakout sessions focused on topics like maintaining work-life balance and becoming an employer of choice for all. Free headshots were also available
