Zanesville, Oh – On Friday, January 23, 2015 The Shelly Company’s public relations manager, Jamie Sturgeon, visited Maysville Elementary in Zanesville, Ohio to talk about construction careers and learn about making roads while having some fun in the process. “It is important to take every opportunity available and educate on the many career opportunities within the construction building- materials industry,” said Sturgeon. Sturgeon’s presentation was so compelling that one teacher commented, “in my second life, I want to be a haul truck driver.” Shelly offers a wide array of positions for all applicants. The company’s tuition-reimbursement program offers employees the chance to further their educational experience. Sturgeon also talked about the uses of aggregates in our everyday lives, as well as provided a hands-on activity that connected mining with geology. Sturgeon is one of many Shelly employees who visits schools and universities.
